Blushables

Completely Engrossing

(5-Star review posted by Jacqueline Dinsmore, February 9, 2015)

I started reading this book cold with absolutely no idea of what it was about or who the characters were. I was hooked on the first page and got so immersed in the story, I couldn't wait to find out what happens. The story is well crafted with great characters and lots going on. I'd recommend it to anyone, and have.

On Pins and Needles from Start to Finish!

Werewolves, genetics, and a story that has chomping at the bit for the next volume. If you think you are in for some usual supernatural fair, prepare to be taken for the ride of your life. Loved this book!!!!

If your New Year's resolution is to read more books -- start with this one!!

The book is a fast paced read with well written characters and pulse pounding suspense. The author provides enough explanation and back story so the reader isn't lost, but not so much that you find yourself thinking, "Enough already!" I absolutely love words and the way she uses words to build the story is artful and engaging. I found myself coming to care about the characters, to get some very real insight into their personalities and motivations through her descriptive voice and engaging dialogue.
The ending of the book makes it very clear there is the potential for a sequel (or possibly more than one?) and I look forward to reading more about this world she has created. I am especially hopeful of the possibility of a prequel to explain the naissance of the mysterious Wyrd Council and Ishmael's origins.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I have had the privilege of meeting the author this past summer and have previously read another of her books.)

Excellent Book!

I'm not good at writing reviews so I'll just say that I absolutely loved this book. It's quite different than the usual werewolf story and that's only one of the reasons I loved it. The fight scenes left me out of breath. The pace of the story was excellent. Now, I can't wait for the next book!

More! More!

Let me get this out of the way: I loved this book! It definitely does not disappoint.

I have read many of Pat Flewwelling's books - you should know that I'm lucky enough to know her personally - and this one in particular is a standout to me.

The compelling and engaging story of Ishmael, a man (or not..?) brutally kidnapped and left to survive in a forest full of mysteries absolutely leaves you thirsty for more, but I recommend resisting the urge to gulp this one down. What feels like a slower start to the novel, in comparison to the second half, is the opportunity that Pat Flewwelling takes to set your mind on fire - a brilliant build up to an intense and exciting tale of a strange and fascinating community struggling to cope under nightmarish conditions.

This is a refreshingly bright and modern werewolf fantasy/thriller novel unlike any you've read before. Hold on tight - you're in for a wild ride (pun intended) and I, for one, am very excited for more!

I'm grateful for two things. 1) I personally know the author & 2) She wrote this book. I'm not generally a fan of this genre, but having previously read some of her work, I knew I had to give this book a chance.

Right from the chapter 1 I was hooked. I couldn't put this book down until I was finished. I read it front to back over two days and would have been faster if I didn't have two kids to look after.

The first 1/3 of the book for me was nothing short of a roller coaster and exciting as one as well. During the next third there was an amazing back story that brought back memories of the beginning and started to put all the pieces of the puzzle together, as well as challenge me, and then the final piece was utterly fantastic. I instantly emailed her as soon as I was done and begged her for a second part as I didn't want it to be over yet and I was yearning for more.

I would recommend this book to anyone, regardless if it's your favorite genre or not. Pat has an unreal way to keep any reader begging for more and truly make you enjoy your time with her writing. Time to start on her previous novel tomorrow and I honestly can't wait!!!!
